ICON recently completed Brooklyn’s new 107,000-square-foot Middle/Elementary School located on Biddulph Road. The $26 million project connected the L-shaped building to the high school as part of the consolidated-campus project and features a two-story library and a field house. The new building will serve pre-K through seventh-grade students.
First-year Superintendent Mark Gleichauf said the new facility, with its project labs and learning centers, was designed to be modern and help educate students in a more collaborative, technologically savvy environment.
“We’re starting a new kind of era for Brooklyn City Schools” Gleichauf says.
The school year for the students started on September 8th, and the facility had its grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on September 10th. Nearly 100 residents attended and toured the facility.
